2025: Superfine Tailoring Black Style
[DISCLAIMER: I'm running out of steam for doing these write-ups, but do still have Opinions to express, so I'm doing it sloppy first-edit style, and will come back at some later date and make things coherent.]
Perfect timing for tailoring as a theme, what with the recent uptick in good menswear looks. There were frankly so many good looks that we didn't end up with a clear winner, and many excellent looks could be considered "underrated". Gonna do things backwards and put men first this time.

Alton Mason in BOSS
More like "CUNT", amirite?

Guillaume Diop in Valentino
The French ballerino goes "Little Lord Fauntleroy mode" in an ensemble that ticks all my boxes: specific and detailed whilst remaining clean and uncluttered, gorgeous fabrics, unexpected colour combinations. My only wish: a few pieces of jewelry.

Shaboozy in Robert Wun
I remember everyone going crazy about this look on the day, but it showed up on far fewer "Best Dressed" lists than I expected, so... Fun fact: the turquoise beads continue on the back!

Cole Escola in Christopher John Rogers
This year's "Crazy But I Love It" winner

Khaby Lame in BOSS, Jeremy O. Harris in Balmain
Handsome :)

Quinta Brunson in Sergio Hudson, Ayo Edebiri in Ferragamo
Lots of synergy happening here: two black comediennes who got internet-famous before landing network TV roles, both wearing black and white accented with red, and a slicked-down curl of a bang. Ayo's coral is more eye-catchingly impressive, but Quinta's getup is sharper.

Laura Harrier in Zac Posen for GAP
Not really a stand-out look for the Met, but nonetheless a high quality garment, well-constructed, properly proportioned. Exactly what I'd expect from Zac Posen (who I'm glad is still represented at the Gala, following the closure of his clothing line!)

Lisa in Louis Vuitton
What a cutie!
